This episode felt good! Me and the new Pioneer set up are seeing eye to eye now, and we spent the first hour mixing up some sweet music together. Kicking off with my brand new track that’s just come out on Discoholics Anonymous Recordings, then keeping things around the 100bpm mark for the first bit of the show, ramping things up, slowing things back down, usual business. Alongside some disco, some funk, some house and some strangeness I also played something else brand new from me, that’ll be out on Hot Gorilla Records early next year. I’m so excited about the guest for this episode - it’s my honour and pleasure to welcome Mark Christopher, AKA Goz. Mark’s show Spin City was a major gateway for me into the beautiful music scene that I now find myself in, and a major factor in me deciding to start this show. Spin City’s chatroom was one of the places that the Disco Walton’s first started bonding over a shared love of the amazing tunes laid down by Goz and his perfectly chosen guests. Spin City remains a hugely important show to me, and Mark has built something truly special. Although I’ve yet to meet him in person (almost did this weekend, but life got in the way), I regard him as a friend, and he exudes warmth, supportiveness and positivity. So happy to welcome him on!
