This episode saw me mixing up my usual blend of genres, tempos and eras, with disco, funk, house and sleazy boogie all making an appearance. Lighter on the promos this fortnight as I’ve not had a chance to download the latest goodies, but one forthcoming tune from me in the mix. In the second hour I was incredibly excited to welcome a member of one of my favourite bands of all time, Derrick McKenzie. As Jamiroquai’s drummer he’s laid down the backing of some of the funkiest tracks ever recorded, and if that wasn’t enough he’s also a brilliant DJ and producer. I’ve been lucky enough to meet him a couple of times too and he’s a thoroughly lovely guy, and I’m thrilled that I’ve managed to talk him into doing a guest mix for my show!
