My hour of Episode 155 was, once again, a bit of a tribute to geniuses that have sadly left us recently. After bidding farewell to Gwen McCrae and Roberta Flack last show, I did the same this time for the great Roy Ayers, Angie Stone and Yam Who? of Midnight Riot. I opened the show with his remix of my own track that came out on MR a couple of years back, and fitted in a few from him and Roy, and one from Angie too. Come on 2025 - stop it! Hour two was very special this time. I brought you a guest mix from a very talented producer who caught my ear late last year - Bralan Arias from Bogota, Colombia. His mix is almost all his own stuff, and almost all of it is unreleased. It’s an absolute treat - loads of his trademark jazzy house sounds, some cheeky samples, plenty of Rhodes, some acid… and things pick up a fair bit towards the end.
