Furness Show 5-11: Mollywhop Monday on Mariners struggles, Garay Parrish on NCAA Tourney

from The Ian Furness Show

Did you watch soap operas when you were younger? Because the role of Nathan Bishop will be played by Anders Hirst today, and apparently, they announced substitutions like that back in the day. The NBA Draft lottery took place this weekend and thank goodness OKC did not win. The NCAA is apparently moving forward with tournament expansion, and when is it too much? Jose Ferrer is placed on the paternity list and Domingo Gonzales has been called up to complete the 26-man roster. Who are you most concerned with when it comes to the struggles we're seeing, between Luis Castillo and Cal Raleigh? The bar is much higher for the Mariners right now, and just 'getting into the playoffs is not enough. Cal needs to get right.  Tell me Something Good! Jess got to watch her Dad get inducted into his high school hall of fame this weekend, and Ian discusses what he respects about those who coach football, in addition to other sports, do for those they impact.  Mollywhop Monday! Chris Crawford joins Anders and Ian to break down exactly what we're seeing from the Mariners right now. If we didn't know what happened this weekend, objectively looking at the roster, we would think they'd be in a good position - but they're not. Chris is more concerned about Castillo than he is Cal, but Anders feels differently. Mollywhop Monday continues! When do you want the Mariners playing their best? Obviously, it's 'always' but if choosing the beginning of the year or the end...always want them to be their best at the end. A six-man rotation makes all the sense in the world right now.  The Daily Power Play!  Gary Parrish, CBS Sports usually has a quiet time of the year at this point, but there is a lot going on! He tells us what to expect from those who are projected to go in the NBA Draft, following the lottery. Gary weighs in on the NCAA Tournament expansion to 76 teams.  Checking in on the Text and Talkbacks!  Crosstalk with Softy!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
