Furniture Plus Warehouse Fire
from Wilmington News Today | 2 Min News | The Daily News Now!
A massive fire erupted at Furniture Plus on North Marine Boulevard this afternoon, starting in the warehouse and rapidly spreading to the main store, with smoke billowing and part of the roof collapsing by late afternoon. Multiple fire departments, including Camp Lejeune and Swansboro, rushed to the scene, deploying aerial trucks and even breaking windows to battle the blaze for hours. The fire was reported at 1:15 PM, and while two firefighters suffered minor injuries, everyone inside the store — a family-owned business since 1978 — emerged safe. The store posted on social media confirming everyone’s safety and promised updates as soon as possible. North Marine Boulevard remains closed due to the incident.
