There are further warnings over economic Armageddon for the fishing industry in Killybegs unless proposed EU cuts are rejected.The proposals include a 70% cut to the mackerel quota, a move that could spell a complete collapse of the sector locally and right across the country.It's estimated the fishing industry supports over 15,000 jobs both on and offshore.Fine Gael Senator Manus Boyle was in Brussels this week, putting the case on the table.He says for too long the sector has not been prioritised at EU level and that has to end now:
