Furusato es un término japonés que se refiere al lugar al que siempre se desea regresar. En la cultura occidental nos referimos al “refugium” en latín o refugio. En latín tiene dos acepciones: Acción de huir hacia atrás y lugar al que se acude cuando se huye. ¿A qué podemos llamar hoy en día “refugio” o “furusato”? Pues sencillamente al lugar que convertimos en nuestro hogar. Un hogar que podría ser la casa donde hemos nacido, en la que nos sentimos confortables, o un lugar que adoptemos como hogar en el que deseamos vivir. Furusato (故郷) es un término japonés que se refiere al lugar de origen, pueblo natal o hogar ancestral de una persona. La palabra “furusato” es muy importante en la cultura japonesa y se utiliza en canciones, poesía y literatura para evocar sentimientos de nostalgia y amor por el lugar de origen. La canción infantil japonesa “Furusato” es un ejemplo de cómo la palabra se utiliza en la cultura popular. La canción, compuesta por Teiichi Okano y escrita por Tatsuyuki Takano en 1914, habla de la nostalgia que siente una persona que trabaja lejos de su hogar por los montes y ríos de su lugar de origen.
