FUSD Employees 'Bump' Others Out Of A Job & Clovis Council Term Limit

Fresno Unified is reducing staff due to falling enrollment and budget shortfalls. Older, more senior staff can “bump” less-senior employees into other roles to stay employed, but this may involve pay cuts or demotions. The teachers' union is pushing back, pointing to healthy reserve funds, while district officials say cuts are vital to protect student services amid ongoing enrollment declines.  The Clovis City Council has paused plans to add term limits, even though a city survey found 79% of residents support the idea.
