In het arme gezin in Amsterdam-West waar Abdelhamid (30) opgroeide, was studeren niet vanzelfsprekend. Toen hij afgestudeerd was als bouwkundig ingenieur, besloot hij andere kinderen uit kwetsbare gezinnen te helpen door studiezalen op te richten. Wekelijks komen er nu in zijn studiezalen 600 kinderen huiswerk maken. Toen die kinderen door de corona-crisis niet meer mochten komen, belde hij ze allemaal op om te vragen wat er nodig was. En dat was veel meer dan een plekje om te studeren.
