FW Ep 23 Intolerance

“If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. John 15:18-19 NIV One of the most pernicious tools of cultural influencers is “tolerance.” The meaning of the word is straightforward. Tolerance, according to Merriam-Webster, is “sympathy or indulgence for beliefs or practices differing from or conflicting with one’s own.” In a diverse world where people have many religious beliefs, it is necessary to honor the freedom of others to choose what they believe and to exercise their religion. How else could we live side by side in peace? This idea works well with Christianity, because becoming a follower of Christ is a personal choice and can’t be legitimately forced upon others. There exists a great difference between the apparent idea of tolerance and “Tolerance” as practiced by our secular overlords and cultural influencers. They don’t mean tolerance of ALL religions. They mean tolerance of the ones they approve of, which in practice means any religion, except Christianity and Judaism. There is a strange animosity against Christianity, a double standard. For me, the fact that they are offended by Biblical principles is an indication that we are on the right track. John 15:18-19 supports this. It is the height of hypocrisy to elevate tolerance as a value, but only for non-Christian beliefs and practices. Capital T “Tolerance” becomes a club, a weapon. It is about asserting power, not sympathy for others’ freedom to exercise their religion. It is about shutting down freedom of speech and religion unless you embrace the state-approved religion. (We will discuss the worship of “The State” in the next section) “YOU MUST accept the beliefs of others as equally valid to your own.” This means you are not free to discuss the merits of Christianity over other belief systems. “YOU MUST not offend people with your religious beliefs.” This means Christianity must be practiced in private and never brought into the public square. “YOU MUST not say anything that we find controversial, outdated, or politically incorrect.” This means they have complete control over your speech, and they’ve won. The secular overlords and cultural influencers are currently making a full-court press to take all our freedoms from us. It is dangerous to let them use capital T “Tolerance” to convince your kids that they must surrender their God-given rights willingly. As fathers, we must help our kids see the manipulative messaging embedded in education, entertainment, advertisement, and politics. Once kids learn to see the lies, they won’t be able to unsee them. They will find them hidden in movies, books, the news, political rhetoric, everywhere. Let’s inoculate our kids against this ploy to force us to surrender our most valuable freedoms, in the name of tolerance.
