Gab & Jam Ep 143 How Can You Tell If You’re A Sell - Out? Podcast

from Gab and Jam · host Prejippie Music Group, Inc.

As artists trying to make a life with our art, it seems natural that we might ask ourselves if we are aware of it—or when—we are selling out. What do we mean when we say “selling out”? We mean that you have started producing art that is more aimed at making money (and maybe even friends), that it does not align with your personal philosophy of artistic creation. We’ve faced this many times in our 30 year journey of making music. (Particularly when we have tried to confine our expression to one still of music, typically to please the people we were around, so that we could open the doors to more opportunities.) And even though you’d think we wouldn’t have this problem now, there are times when we still stop and ask ourselves these 3 key questions. (Check out the episode to find out how to tell if you're a sell-out.) Don’t get us wrong; we DO want to make money with our music (and we are VERY clear about that). But we don’t want to do it by doing things that don’t make us feel like we are genuinely expressing what’s inside us and of what is our original reason for wanting to make music. Speaking of wanting to sell our music, our funk album “Sugar Fit “ is available for a limited time for $10 at the link in the description just for you! Click this special discounted code link to head on over and download it. It will be going up in the next few weeks, and will NEVER be this price again, so don’t miss out! https://bit.ly/BPJbandcamp #sellout #authentic #diyrockstar #musicianlifestyle #beyou #artisticexpression #prejippie #bloomingprejippie What do you think?
