Terms like “modern” and “old school” provides those same challenges. We try to explore the ideas around “retro” music. You be the judge of how we did… (If you prefer to listen to the podcast, click here: ) Not only is this a topic that is near and dear to our hearts—because we write songs that are often referred to as “retro” (which has always proved difficult to classify)—but as we are more actively seeking music licensing work, we are set with a conundrum; how to determine musical genre classifications. Inevitably, postings will list a “retro” genre classification that not only do we need to fit the music that we submit to. That is one of the main reasons that we chose this topic. Yeah, so this is our take. You probably have your own ideas. We’d love to hear what you think…. Do you feel that “retro” has a specific decade associated with it?
