Zu wenig Wohnraum, steigende Mieten, dazu der Lärm, Abgase, Dauerbaustellen und Beton: So nehmen wir häufig unsere Städte wahr, die uns Zeit und Nerven kosten, "oft wirken sie, als wären sie nicht für Menschen gemacht” (Beck). Noch dazu kommen die neueren Herausforderungen des Klimawandels, die mit sich bringen, dass Städte resilienter werden müssen gegen Hitze, Dürre und Überschwemmung. Trotzdem zieht es die Menschen in die Städte, weltweit, weil sie potenziell all das bieten, was sie heute attraktiv finden: Liberalität, Diversität, Möglichkeiten, Geld zu verdienen, Freizeit und Kultur. Wie kann vor diesem Hintergrund eine lebens- und liebenswerte Stadt der Zukunft aussehen? Wie werden wir unser Wohnumfeld anpassen, an Starkregen und Hitzeperioden, die alternde Gesellschaft und die Digitalisierung? Wie könnten neue Mobilitäts- und Energiekonzepte aussehen?
