Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour with Mariam Massaro: #613

from Dreamvisions 7 Radio & TV Network · host Dreamvisions 7 Radio Network

Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour #613 is an hour of inspired, visionary acoustic improvised music played by The Gaea Star Band with Mariam Massaro on vocals, acoustic guitar, 12-string acoustic guitar, harmonica, Native flute and ukulele, Bob Sherwood on piano and Craig Harris on congas and Native drum. Recorded live in late March at Singing Brook Studio on Worthington, Massachusetts, today’s show begins with the rich, evocative folk waltz of “Just This Way” before opening into the sparse, spacious “Seeds Of Love” a stately psalm with gorgeous, minimalist piano, soaring Native flute and a fine vocal from Mariam. “Oh, Our Sweet Mother Earth” is a vast blues journey that begins with fiery harmonica lines from Mariam and journeys into the realm of modern blues with sophisticated piano extensions and syncopated conga work from Craig. “Calling Us Home”, originally recorded for Mariam’s “Release” LP is given a powerful, extended rock workout with energized contributions from the whole ensemble and a soaring vocal from Mariam and “Isis”, from the “Gaea Star Goddesses” LP is both stately and elegantly surreal. “Ancient One From The Stars, I Come To Walk The Path Of Peace” is an achingly beautiful ballad with a searching, expansive vocal from Mariam above a powerful ensemble of chiming acoustic guitar, throbbing Native drum and cyclical, repeating piano motifs. We complete today’s show with the sweeping raga “Trust”, a mystical cloud of swirling 12-string guitar, skipping congas and an epic, hypnotic piano motif.
