Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour with Mariam Massaro: #637

from Dreamvisions 7 Radio & TV Network · host Dreamvisions 7 Radio Network

Gaea Star Crystal Radio Hour #637 is an hour of intrepid, visionary acoustic improv music played and sung by the Gaea Star Band with Mariam Massaro on vocals, acoustic guitar, mandolin, double flutes, ukulele and Native flute, Bob Sherwood on piano and Craig Harris on congas and Native drum. Recorded live in early September of 2025, today begins with a live rendition of one of Mariam’s finest songs, “This Is The Way”, taken at an energized pace and featuring a fine vocal from Mariam. “Farewell To Summer” is a gorgeous, extended piece with another striking vocal from Mariam and energized, inspired work from the ensemble and “Lunalya” is a gorgeous ballad about an interstellar unicorn that begins with a fanfare from Mariam’s overtone-generating double flutes before developing into a beautiful ballad underpinned with earthy heartbeat drum from Craig. “Flower Of Life” is a stately piece with inspired gospel piano from Bob and a beautiful, evocative vocal and Native flute conversation from Mariam. “Gather Together”, another of Mariam’s finest songs, is presented with a spacious, wide, operatic sound stage that creates an elegant space for Mariam’s high, Apollonian poetry and “Ode To Mother Earth” is a sprawling, multi-movement that begins as a sparse, mandolin-based pop song and gradually develops into a mystical, raga-like mantra with a particularly powerful spiritual presence with grooving congas and imaginative piano backing Mariam’s epic vocal poetry and Native flute passages.
