Freedom requires responsibility. The Hebrews only knew the life of slavery, when they didn't want to be responsible before their God they desired to go back to Egypt and lie under what they knew. Christians too have this pull on their lives. There is a desire to go back to the elemental things of the world, live under slavery once again. Paul addresses this in the first section of Chapter 4 of Galatians.
