Gamecocks Succumb to Citadel, Head to LSU

South Carolina Gamecocks suffered a disappointing 4-0 loss to The Citadel, marking their fifth defeat to mid-major teams in midweek games this season. The Citadel secured a two-game series sweep, their first since 2009, and ended a drought by winning in Columbia for the first time since 2018. The Gamecocks struggled offensively, loading the bases but failing to score, while The Citadels starter, Trip Brown, dominated with four scoreless innings. The Bulldogs tallied eleven hits and seven walks, scoring two runs in the third, one in the seventh, and another in the ninth. The Gamecocks, now 22-24 overall and 7-14 in SEC play, head to Baton Rouge for a weekend series against LSU. Support the show:Get a discount at https://solipillow.com/discount/dnn.
