Gaming Expectations from Preorders to Sequels

Video game sequels can be hit or miss depending on what expectations gamers may have. Sometimes a developer may want to include new mechanics or take a franchise in a different direction with hopes of expanding the target audience. When the product doesn't meet the standards of the hype, backlash can be severe. We're discussing how this dynamic plays out in the current generation of video games and when expectations are reasonable and when they aren't.
