Gap Year Strategies

We've all been there.  You hear from a fantastic student recruited for this fall that they're very excited to come to campus ... after a gap year.   What you do or say next will make all the difference.  Our influencer guest is Dean Jacoby, Director of College Guidance at Albuquerque Academy, in Albuquerque, New Mexico - and a nearly-certified expert on gap years.  He'll talk to us about the perceptions (correct and incorrect) about how and why students pursue gap years, when it's the right choice for them, and what colleges can do to better recruit gap year students.  Then, we're joined by our practitioner guest, Jake Weissbourd, Director of Partnerships and Strategic Innovations at Verto Education Group, in Portland, Oregon.  We'll hear how Verto put together an academic gap year program that is a win/win for all involved.
