Garda Sergeant Killed In East Clare Collision Remembered As "Very Popular Man"

A garda sergeant who lost his life in a road traffic collision in East Clare over the weekend is being remembered as a "very popular man" who's left a hole in An Garda Síochána. Long-time Broadford resident, Sergeant Andrew O'Riordan, was killed in a single-vehicle collision on the R466 at Gortnaglough outside Broadford on Sunday evening. The County Cork native was a father of five and was stationed at Mayorstone Park in Limerick for the past two decades. Clare Garda Representative Association representative Dominic Curtin says it shows no one is immune to the dangers of the roads.
