Gary Gilmore, Head Coach, Coastal Carolina

from ABCA Podcast · host American Baseball Coaches Association

This week kicks off our celebration of our 2022 Hall of Fame, Lefty Gomez and Dave Keilitz Ethics Award winners. We start the series off with Coastal Carolina head coach Gary Gilmore. Gilmore is the definition of a program builder. He has amassed over 1200 wins as a head coach at Coastal and USC-Aiken. Since taking over the Coastal program in 1996, the Chanticleers have 16 regional births, 3 super regional appearances and were national champs in 2016. It took Coastal 5 seasons before they made their first regional appearance. This episode is all about fail forward moments. There are going to be bumps along the way on your journey. Coach Gilmore is a great example of showing grit and persistence on your path. This may be the most impactful episode we have recorded up to this point. The ABCA Podcast is presented by Netting Pros. Netting Professionals are improving programs one facility at a time, specializing in the design, fabrication and installation of custom netting for backstops, batting cages, dugouts, bp screens and ball carts. They also design and install digital graphic wall padding windscreen, turf, turf protectors, dugout benches, dugout cubbies and more. This episode is also brought to you by Marc Pro. That is M A R C Pro. Personally I used it as a coach for my ragged out BP arm and legs after a tough workout. We saw huge benefits with our pitchers and position players in decreased soreness and recovery time. It is an amazing machine that speeds up the recovery process by getting blood flow back to areas that need it. It is durable and cost effective. The Marc Pro needs to be a tool in your peak performance tool kit. I can’t recommend it enough. Hit me up if you have any questions.
