Gateway Horror Movie Draft
from Messed Up Movies Hosted by Misfit Parade
What makes the perfect gateway horror movie? Is it a family-friendly introduction to the genre, the movie that personally traumatized you as a kid, or simply something so fun that it leaves you craving another scare? Griffey, Sam, Heath and Sophia draft the movies they believe create lifelong horror fans. The picks range from The Lost Boys, The Monster Squad and Hocus Pocus to Pinocchio, Beetlejuice and Poltergeist. Along the way, they debate whether Disney movies count as horror, revisit the VHS covers and childhood nightmares that warped their young minds, and discover that Sam may only understand gateway horror as "hot teenagers fighting vampires." Who built the best list? Vote for the winner in the comments and tell us which movie first opened the gateway to horror for you.
