Gateway Jax Eyes Riverfront Hotel | Jacksonville News

Gateway Jax is set to unveil its bold new vision for Riverfront Plaza — a hotel and residential tower rising where the old Jacksonville Landing once stood. After acquiring the site in a savvy trade with the city earlier this year, the company heads before the Downtown Development Review Board on September 10 to get conceptual approval. This pivotal step marks progress in revitalizing Jacksonville’s waterfront, turning a post-Landing blank slate into a dynamic hub of activity. While the board’s review is preliminary, it’s a crucial checkpoint for aligning the design with downtown’s evolving aesthetic and development goals — and a sign that the riverfront’s transformation is well underway.
