Gavin Hunt emphasizing competition at Bidvest Wits
from Soccer Hosted by SABC Sport
Bidvest Wits coach Gavin Hunt says he is impressed with the healthy competition in his team, particularly in the midfield. Daylon Claasen and Granwald Scott are itching to get back to action from injury. They now face the task of competing with the likes of Elias Pelembe‚ Terence Dzukamanja‚ Keegan Ritchie, Deon Hotto, Cole Alexander and Haashim Domingo to mention just a few. The Clever Boys are preparing for the Telkom Knockout quarter-final clash away to Maritzburg United on Saturday, and Hunt says it is important to create room for competition in a team. In an attempt to defend their Absa Premiership title last season, they finished dismally on in 13th position. They have since returned to this campaign with a strong start, winning six and drawing two of their opening ten games, and now sit at the top of the table. The signing of 13 new players seems to have turned things around for Hunt.
