Gavin Williams Shines with 13 Ks | Cleveland Guardians News

Gavin Williams delivered a career-high 13 strikeouts in seven innings, shutting down the Blue Jays with just two singles and sealing a crucial win for the Guardians. After a brutal outing last week, this bounce-back performance tied him for the AL lead in strikeouts with Dylan Cease—whose next start is against Cleveland. The offense added fuel with Patrick Bailey’s first opposite-field homer, Angel Genao’s pinch-hit blast, and Angel Martínez’s two-run shot in the eighth. Toronto managed one unearned run, but Williams dominated the rest, striking out three of his final four batters. The win pushes Cleveland to 70-68, keeping them within striking distance of the AL Central lead and firmly in the wild-card race as the Jays slip further back. Joey Cantillo takes the mound tomorrow in the series finale. Listen in comfort:Get a discount on a Soli Pillow: http://solipillow.com/discount/dnn.
