Gay Grimace Mets

from Casual Diehard

Addy, Britt, and Jesse find out who the headliner was when Max Verstappen raced in a one-season Florida circuit in 2014, proving that sports works in mysterious and comical ways. Nothing is more mysterious and comical than a baseball team being inspired to join the playoff hunt by a fast food character, and of course it's the Gay Grimace Mets who are running rampant and setting a new vibe. Aston Martin could certainly use a vibe shift -- perhaps a first Fernando Alonso win since before Max Verstappen was in the Florida Winter Series? Spiritually closer to Florida, but actually in Iowa, NASCAR shifted to NBC for the second half of the season and we always appreciate a good broadcast -- especially in baseball, where Mets and Giants voices were perfectly equipped to deal with the death of Willie Mays. It's quite a lot of baseball for a racing podcast, but don't worry, football season starts soon enough (and we're saving all the Iowa jokes from Sunday's race until Katie gets back). Hosted on Acast.
