Gaze Into Heaven; Grace and Truth Church Worship Team; Studio Recording 12/6/2025

from Grace and Truth Church of Athens · host graceandtruthchurchofathens

David Thomas is an audio engineering student at Ohio University, and a part of the Grace and Truth family. He had a student project to record three musicians playing at the same time, so he asked if the three of us would like to come record a song.   Simon and Jenna usually lead the musical worship at GTC, but I do every once in a while (if Simon can't be there). So, the three of us have played together before in pairs, but never all three of us at once. Simon chose what song we would do, and he chose this one because his oldest daughter, Laura, loves it so much when we sing it at church.   The only open time slot for the studio at OU before David's deadline required us to meet up at 6:30am on Saturday, 12/6/2025. We had a total of two hours to get in there, set up all the equipment, record the song, and clean up. The next band was moving in as we were moving out!   We had not practiced this song together ever, and like I said, we had never once played together before. We got in there and got to work real quick. We figured out the arrangement of everything... the harmonies, echoes, who would sing and play what, and when. We just knocked it out as best and quick as we could. It was SO fun, as nether of us musicians have ever done studio work before. We would have nailed it in just two takes, but one bad note was hit on an instrument, so we ran through it one more time real quick. This is take three of three. I hope it blesses you.   If you are a worship leader and would like to bring this song into your church's musical worship rotation, email me (see below) and I will gladly send you the chord sheet for it.
