Jeff’s Trip Report Highlights: Resort Summary Details AKL:JH “standard view” 11/30-12/5 – upgraded to Savanah AKL:JH “standard view” DVC Studio 12/6 – upgraded to Savanah AKL:KV “standard view” DVC 1-bed 12/7-12/8 – given standard view Grand Floridian “standard view” – Pine Key building 12/9-10 – view of lake and Polynesian Village Highlights Upgraded at the JH to a savannah view room First room was 2 doors from the lobby Spa Day at Senses Watching the fireworks from the Grand Floridian docks New drinks page in the standard book – whisky flights and tequila flights Lessons Learned Submit room upgrade requests early for Standard View rooms!!! Restaurant Summary New Experiences The Boathouse – Disney Springs Hangar Bar – Disney Springs Monsieur Paul – Epcot Rose and Crown – Pub Side – Epcot Sanaa – AKL:KV Plaza Restaurant – Magic Kingdom Be Our Guest – Magic Kingdom – Breakfast Old Favorites Le Cellier, Chefs du France, Tokyo Dining, Biergarten, Jiko, Boma, Citricos, Flying Fish, Cape May, Hollywood and Vine Highlights Le Cellier – Bison Ribeye La Cava – Mexico – Blood Orange Margarita – sugar and tamarind rim The Boathouse – great new England setting with awesome seafood & steaks; didn’t try – but wanted to – the Amphicars Hangar Bar – 2 items from the Adventurer’s Club & talking with cast members Hollywood and Vine had a holiday overlay – Daisy & friends, not Disney Jr. Rose Room in Be Our Guest – reminiscent of the Haunted Mansion Highlights from the McCartney-Ferris Disney Trip – December 2015 Lessons Learned Richness of the food at Monsieur Paul Spices at Sanaa Be Our Guest breakfast pre-prepared; arrives fast, but tastes like it was under a heat lamp for a bit Tables in Wonderland prices much higher $100 to $150 – but still got our money’s worth. Best value was leveraging the free valet – saved $25/pop Parks Summary New Experiences Star Wars Launch Bay & Stormtroopers wandering the area outside Dance Party at Hollywood Studios Light Projections on the Castle Disney Springs Frozen Sing Along Lessons Learned Parks are becoming more crowded during the first 2 weeks of December – Leverage the extra magic hours for best experience Monorail from the TTC was down most mornings forcing everyone onto the ferry – take the bus if possible! The floating mountain of Pandora is now becoming visible from some aspects around the park The amphitheater for the AK nighttime show is massive – rivals Fantasia Changes are here for the Annual Passholders – depending on WHEN you renewed – mine was not upgraded but Barry’s was.
