Geekscape 257: Holliston's Laura Ortiz

from Geekscape · host Geekscape

Laura Ortiz is an actress who's first movie was the Alejandro Aja remake of The Hills Have Eyes. Since then she's been in tons of commercials, TV shows and films including a lead role in Disney Channel's "Fish Hooks" and the new FearNet original series "Holliston". I met Laura at Wondercon last weekend and thought it would be cool if she would come on the show and talk about Holliston, series creator and horror director Adam Green, co-star and horror director Joe Lynch and the craziest things that have happened in her career. What's the creepiest thing a fan has done? Has she ever been skeeved on by a Hollywood director? This is Geekscape, so you get the gist of the kinds of questions I ask! Horror Movie Night Geekscape Join Matt, Scott and Kyle each week as they suffer through horror films both forgotten and beloved. The trio capture the excitement and the disappointment of renting movies in the 80’s and 90’s. For every surprising thrill like American Gothic the trio suffer through there's 10 disappointing flops like Terror Toons. The show combines the nostalgia of renting videos with a snarky comedic blend that will make you feel sentimental while simultaneously putting a smile on your face. So dust off your VCR, make some popcorn and check behind every door because it’s… Horror Movie Night. Explicit One Hit Thunder Geekscape Yes, One Hit Thunder in a long-running podcast about one hit wonders, and yes, it’s hosted by Chris Fafalios of the band Punchline and Matt Kelly of the Geekscape Network, but don’t let THAT be what convinces you to listen and subscribe. Instead, read the words of this 1 star review left by Royalsfan83 with the subject line “Garbage”: Yet another music podcast by insipid, try-hard millennials who amaze themselves at how edgy they are. You can get this content from countless other shows minus the delusional leftist rants. Hard pass. Explicit Dynamic Resolution: A Video Game Show Geekscape Bi-weekly discussions on the current trends, news, drama, and stories in gaming and more dynamic conversations! Explicit Playing With Squirrels: A Boy Meets World Fancast Geekscape A Podcast discussing Boy Meets World one Episode at a time.
