Genao Calls Up to Face Lindor | Cleveland Guardians News

Angel Genao, the Guardians’ top prospect and switch-hitting shortstop who grew up idolizing Francisco Lindor, is being called up to the big leagues — right as Lindor’s Mets are in town for a showdown. Genao’s rise through the minors has been steady, with a strong bounce-back season after a shoulder injury, highlighted by impressive stats in Triple-A. This call-up feels like destiny — Lindor was his childhood hero, and now Genao’s following the same path, signing with Cleveland just days after Lindor’s trade. With José Ramírez sidelined, Genao may start at third base, where he could carve out a role. His arrival adds crucial depth as the Guardians push for the playoffs.
