Gender Equity and Academic Medicine

"Gender Equity and Academic Medicine" is a thought-provoking podcast about women in medical centers and universities. There is a paucity of role models. There is a lack of interest in promoting women as competition is everywhere. The women do not know how to go beyond the very first rung of academic medicine.  There are perceived glass ceilings.  From the point of view of the male department chairs, the men feel that there are plenty of programs but their women colleagues do not apply.  Most feel that role models are important for women to succeed in academic medicine.
