General Dentist Owned Pediatric Dental Offices, with Dr. Chad Carpenter

Dr. Chad Carpenter is a general dentist practicing out of Rapid City, South Dakota. Dr. Carpenter identified that there was a substantial access to care problem for high-risk kids in his population. He took matters into his own hands and started a general-anesthesia heavy pediatric dental office, employing both general dentists and pediatric dentists. His unique situation as a GP owner who employs pediatric dentists allows him to provide a unique perspective on dental care in a rural population, specifically a heavy Native American population.  Dr. Carpenter and I discuss how he runs both a GP office and a pedo office, challenges and benefits of treating Medicaid, and how he provides quality dentistry for these kids in his office.
