Generational Challenges

from Therapy Unzipped · host Brett Hall and Tom Metzinger

This week: Generational Challenges Brett and Tom discuss control and some generational challenges. Baby Boomers (1946-1964): Born in the post-WWII baby boom, this generation saw significant changes in societal norms and values, civil rights movements, and technological advances. Generation X (1965-1980): Gen X grew up during a time of societal upheaval and changing family structures (rise in divorce rates). They are often considered the first "latchkey kids." Millennials (1981-1996): The first generation to grow up with the internet and digital technology. Highly educated but also facing the brunt of economic downturns. Generation Z (1997-2012): Digital natives, growing up in a post-9/11 world with a vast digital landscape, social media, and the gig economy. Generation Alpha (2013 - ~2025): The children of Millennials, this generation is expected to be the most technologically immersed. They'll likely have AI, augmented reality, and advanced biotech as a normal part of their lives.
