Generational Weight & Food Noise with my Mam #36
from Teachers OFF DUTY!
In this episode, I sit down with my mum to talk about how food, weight, and movement have changed across generations. We discuss growing up in Ireland in the 70s and 80s, when food was simple and homegrown, compared to today’s world of constant food noise and overconsumption. My mum shares her experience with weight loss, how she lost 3 stone by sticking to the same meals and ‘just getting on with it,’ and why food wasn’t such a struggle in her time. We also dive into our shared experience with Celiac disease, the stigma around gluten intolerance, and the lack of support then versus now. This conversation opened my eyes to how much has changed—and how sometimes, keeping it simple is the key. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.
