Generations

from Sanjay Prajapati · host Dr. Sanjay Prajapati

“19 And these [are] the generations of Isaac, Abraham’s son: Abraham begat Isaac:” (Genesis 25:19 KJV) I grew up as a fan of the Star Trek series known as Star Trek — The Next Generation. The opening script of Star Trek — The Next Generation is, “Space, the final frontier. These are the voyages of the Starship Enterprise. Its continuing mission to explore strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to boldly go where no one has gone before…” I would like to rewrite the opening script of Star Trek — The Next Generation to align with this week’s Torah portion at Destined4Torah. It reads like this, “Generations, the Final Frontier. These are the voyages of Destined4Torah. Its continuing mission to spread Torah to strange new worlds, to seek out new life and new civilizations, to transform one’s middot (character), to fulfill one’s mission in life, to boldly go where no one has gone before …” The Torah reading for the week of November 15, 2020 is Parashah Toldot consisting of Genesis 25:19 – 28:9. Toldot means “Generations.” Your destiny is connected to the Generations of Isaac. Isaac was the only worthy successor of Abraham. In the spiritual sense, Isaac was truly the “only son” of Abraham. One of Isaac’s greatest qualities was the depth of his prayer life that healed Rebekah from her barrenness. “21 And Isaac intreated the LORD for his wife, because she [was] barren: and the LORD was intreated of him, and Rebekah his wife conceived.”  (Genesis 25:21 KJV) The name of each parashah is the theme of the entire parashah. The theme of this parashah is Generations. In Generations, you will discover the keys to overcoming the most difficult challenges in your life and to ensure the continuation of your legacy to future generations. Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to attend “Generations.” Your next stop, the Destined4Torah Zone! Regards, Dr. Sanjay Prajapati
