Genesis Lesson 61: A Divided Family - Part I {The Domino Effect of Sin}

from The Caldwell Commentaries Podcast · host Caldwell Commentaries

In this two-part study on Genesis chapter 27, we peer into the contents of a believer's home and are warned of what can happen to even the godliest of homes when one or more family members try to take matters into their own hands and do things their way rather than rely on God and do things His way!  We will learn about the domino effect of sin!  Isaac's sin led to Rebekah's sin; Rebekah's sin led to Jacob's sin, and Jacob's sin led to Esau's sin.  It was a mess!  Yet, the terrible situation that resulted in "A Divided Family" did not develop in just one day.  It had been festering for a long time.  Parental favoritism and a lack of fatherly guidance and disciple regarding sibling rivalries had been brewing for many years.  Because these issues were not addressed by the spiritual head of the family (Isaac), and were even further aggravated by his obvious favoritism of Esau, a tragic splitting of the family occurred.  A GREAT LESSON TO STUDY TO LEARN FROM THE SAD LESSONS OF OTHERS!
