Genesis Part 3: The Authority, Power, and Surety of God's Word In Genesis 1:3-25, we witness the absolute authority, unmatched power, and unwavering certainty of God's Word. Because God's Word is final, effectual, and trustworthy, we are called to submit to its authority, trust in its power, and proclaim it boldly in evangelism. 🔹 The Authority of God's Word – When God speaks, creation obeys instantly. His Word is unchanging, final, and governs all of life (Psalm 33:9, 2 Timothy 3:16). 🔹 The Power of God's Word – His Word brings life and order to creation and salvation. Just as Christ’s Word raised the dead, God's Word transforms hearts and sanctifies believers (Genesis 1:11-12, John 11:43). 🔹 The Surety of God's Word – "And it was so." God’s Word never fails; it always accomplishes its purpose, sustaining creation and securing His promises (Isaiah 55:11, Hebrews 1:3). 🔹 The Necessity of God's Word in Evangelism – Faith comes by hearing the Word. The Gospel is the power of God, and evangelism must rely on Scripture rather than human wisdom (Romans 10:17, 1 Corinthians 1:18). 💡 Application: ✔️ Submit to the authority of God's Word. ✔️ Trust in its power to sustain and transform. ✔️ Rest in the certainty of His promises. ✔️ Proclaim the Gospel with boldness, knowing His Word never returns void.
