Lydjægeren Ekko tager sin Sonar 3000 med til Kongeskansen i Dybbøl. På den grønne bakke opfanger han gamle lyde af festmusik, vajende flag og tusindvis af mennesker, der jubler. Lydene fører ham tilbage til sommeren 1920, hvor Kong Christian X og sønderjyderne fejrede Genforeningen og Sønderjyllands tilbagevenden til Danmark.
