Mit ihrem anstehenden Parteitag rückt die SPD wieder stärker in den Fokus der Öffentlichkeit. Denn obwohl sie regiert und neben dem Kanzler die größte Fraktion im Bundestag stellt, ist die SPD mit Umfrageergebnissen um die 14 Prozent auf den vierten Platz in der Wählergunst abgestiegen. Stattdessen bestimmen die sich streitenden Grünen und Liberalen das Bild der Ampel, so Michael Schlieben, politischer Korrespondent bei ZEIT ONLINE. Er erklärt, welche Rolle Kanzler Olaf Scholz bei dem Umfragetief spielt. Der Westen verliert angesichts aufstrebender Nationen an Einfluss – auch moralisch. Es entstehen neue Bündnisse des Globalen Südens, die sich gegen den Westen richten. Das Erstaunliche: Egal wie widersprüchlich die Interessen dieser Bündnispartner sein mögen, die Wut gegen den Westen verbindet. Diese Wut besteht auch bei der jüngeren Generation, sie bringt dem Westen immer weniger Respekt entgegen. Dieser Meinung ist zumindest Bernd Ulrich, stellvertretender Chefredakteur der ZEIT. Er sagt, dass der Westen seinen eigenen Machtverlust nicht aktiv genug diskutiert. Und sonst so?
