GENTLENESS IN CORRECTION

from The Kingdom Of God First Podcast. · host Tewe Kolade Felix

Scripture: Galatians 6:1 "Brothers and sisters, if someone is caught in a sin, you who live by the Spirit should restore that person gently. But watch yourselves, or you also may be tempted." Correction is a necessary part of Christian love and community, but how we correct matters deeply to God. Galatians 6:1 calls us not to shame or harshly judge others when they fall into sin, but to restore them gently, with humility and compassion. Gentleness doesn’t ignore the truth; it delivers it with grace. It speaks not to condemn, but to heal and uplift. Those who live by the Spirit are marked by love, patience, and wisdom, knowing that none of us is beyond stumbling—and all of us are in need of God’s mercy. When we correct others gently, we reflect the heart of Jesus, who restores the broken not with accusation, but with kindness that leads to repentance. Our goal isn’t to win an argument, but to win a heart back to God. Today, ask yourself: Am I quick to judge or slow to restore? Do my words reflect the gentleness of Christ when helping someone back onto the path? Prayer: Almighty Father, help me to be an instrument of Your grace. Teach me to speak truth with love and to correct with gentleness. Keep me humble, remembering how much I’ve been forgiven. Use me to restore others with the same mercy I’ve received. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
