GenZ Explains Web3, NFTs, and DAOs to a Boomer (with Madison Adams)

from Clear & Loud with Josh Harris · host Josh Harris

Okay, so this episode’s title isn’t technically correct—I’m not part of the “Baby Boom” generation, I’m Gen X (born between 1965 - 1980). But boy did I feel like a Boomer as I interviewed two students aged 19 and 18 respectively, about blockchain, DAOs, and NFTs. Regardless of your age, it’s tempting to be skeptical of new technology and new ideas. It can take effort to stay open and curious, but it’s worth the effort—especially when the next generation aspires to use technology to improve the world. My guests are Madison Adams, age 19, and Oliver Yehlik 18. Madison is the Co-founder of the Dream DAO, which trains Gen Z to use web3 to change the world. Oliver is a student participant in the Dream DAO. In this episode we talk about: • What is blockchain technology? • Why so many young adults are drawn to the promise of Web3 • How Covid shaped and is still shaping the culture of the web • Why it’s important to imagine a Solar Punk future Learn more: Dream DAO: https://www.dreamdao.xyz/ Civics Unplugged: https://www.civicsunplugged.org/ Madison Adams on Twitter: https://twitter.com/_madison_adams
