I very recently lost someone very close to me... it has not been easy dealing with it. I'm sure there are plenty of psychologists out there who would say that everyone has their own way of coping... this is mine... expressing my feelings through music... This mix is not for everyone (it's a mix of downtempo, ambient soundscapes, deep driving tech, some worldly stuff, and a little italo/disco), but I know it would have been right up his alley, so to speak... you see, for all the things he was: loving father, wonderful husband, proud grandfather, he was, in his heart of hearts, a musician.... one of the many reasons he and I always connected. We were also birthday buddies, and knowing that I won't be able to have our yearly birthday pow-wow anymore just destroys me... He never really "got" electronic music (he was an old blues hound, afterall), but I would like to think he would get the musicality of this mix... He and I will always have music... I will miss you, you 'ol dog.... crack open a beer for our friendship wherever you may be, buddy.... (A small note: the title of this mix is latin for "unwept" because I had not shed a tear yet...which ultimately I found pretty odd... however, right around the time Luke Vibert's remix of Maajo came on, that was rectified... frankly I kinda lost it. Who says music isn't cathartic?) TRACKLIST Scott Bomar - The Chain (gk live edit) Reinier Zonneveld - Dive Nils Frahm - Human Range Nils Frahm - All Melody Four Tet - Morning Side (gk ridin' the pitch edit) Dance Spirit - Late Night Early Mornings (Bedouin remix) Pablo Fierro - La Palma Alma Negra - Vision &ME - Avalon K-effect - Controversy Minus the Majors - The Mast Pierre de Seine - Sais tu Danser au Champs Elysees Mini Laposa - Baila Noche MUTABLE - A1 Chmmr - User (CLI Mix) rANGER - Nomalizo Maajo - Maajo (Luke Vibert Remix) Anhanguera - Cirandisco
