George, Racism and Destruction

from FriDudes - Getting Real. Pursuing Truth. · host DJTommyP413

Heavy week at FriDudes as many of these guys live in the Minneapolis/St, Paul area.  George Floyd's life was taken and a societal bomb went off in the Twin City area and beyond.  What do we have to say about racism?  Here you go...Thanks for joining us on this heavy week.  We will tackle brutal.  We will tackle the biggest problems that ravage our world.  What if we all did that?  What if we all stood for peace and love and harmony?  If you are a Christian, that is your mandate.  If you know a Christian that isn't doing that, then lovingly call them out.  If you truly love Jesus, I don't know how you can be racist.  It goes against everything that Jesus stood for.  For you that mock Jesus and his followers, you are mocking peace and love.  “God blesses you when people mock you and persecute you and lie about you and say all sorts of evil things against you because you are my followers.  Matt 5:11.  Racism = hate.  Jesus = Love.  If you truly study His words and implement that, you get that.  You will shine it.  If not, you're just a poser.  Speaking of Love and Truth, it is why these Dudes gather.  Focusing on love striving to be better husbands and fathers and neighbors. Some of those Dudes are police officers and others are hard working citizens with different shades of skin color.  Together, we are united in love for Jesus and our families and communities.  We choose love.  How about you?  If you choose love, welcome to the brotherhood and sisterhood.  BTW, in honor of Dude Jared and his heart to better give.  If you have an idea or a favorite charity that focuses on race relations and building up communities - let us know at FriDudes.com and we'll plug you.  May we truly walk it like we talk it...Ending on a song note, you heard my declaration of Martin Luther King Jr. as one of my favorite speakers ever.  Jesus may by #1.  MLK is in the upper echelon.  So with MLK in mind and for what he stood for and what we stand for, I'm dusting off, "In the Name of Love" aka Pride by U2.  Written about the night that MLK Jr. was killed as a shot rang out in a Memphis Sky.  If honor of MLK JR and for those wrongly killed like George, please add it to your play list.  Going forward, ask yourself, what am I doing out of LOVE to help serve my neighbors and neighboring communities...no matter what their skin shade or beliefs?  Now, go, love, serve...
