George Van Tassel

from Strange Things with Chris James · host Chris James

George Van Tassel was born in Jefferson, Ohio in 1910. He grew up in a fairly prosperous middle-class family. He left high school in the 10th grade and went to work at a municipal airport near Cleveland. While working at the airport George got his pilot’s license. At age 20, he moved to California, where he worked as an automobile mechanic at his uncle, Glen Paine’s, garage/gas station. Back then the two went together. Just about every gas station also had a garage where they could fix most things under the hood. You could also buy tires and get an oil change. There was no food and the only drinks were in coolers set next to the wall. Some gas stations did have restaurants attached. Late at night on August 24, 1953 George awake from his dreams at 2:00 in the morning and saw a flying saucer siting out on the runway. Several people around the airport had seen the craft come down. A “man” came to George and invited him to come over and see their flying craft. George never described the aliens as looking like anything other than men. No green skin no antenna. The man stood about 5 foot 6 and looked to be about 28 years old. If not for the flying craft and their stories George would never have thought they were from anywhere other than the earth. The aliens spoke English with no accent and sounded very well versed. The alien introduced himself as being Zolganda.Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/strange-things-with-chris-james--4931876/support.
