Neha: Hallo Rahul, also, in unserer letzten Podcast-Folge Nr. 198 warst du am 16.October 2020 in Cherrapunji in Meghalaya. Was hast du dort sonst noch beobachtet? Rahul: Na klar! ____________________________________ Neha: Hello Rahul, so, in our last Podcast Episode # 198, you were in Cherrapunji in Meghalaya on 16.October 2020. Where did you go next on your Solo Bike trip?  Rahul: Hello Neha, so, after visiting Elephant Falls, and before visiting the famous NohKaLikai Waterfalls, I passed through Mawlynnong, the village recognized by Discover India magazine as Asia's cleanest village in 2003. Neha: Yes, I have heard of this village and its unique achievement, but didn't remember the name. How was the village - did it stand up to its reputation? Rahul: It absolutely did. It was incredibly well-maintained, with clean streets and lush greenery just as we see in the countryside in Germany. Neha: Wow, and, do you know Rahul that the villagers of Mawlynnong follow a matrilineal inheritance system, where property is passed down from mother to the youngest daughter. Rahul: No, I didn’t, but perhaps that explains why this village remains so clean. Neha: Please tell our listeners a little more about Mawlynnong. What else did you observe there? Rahul: Sure, I explored the village, admiring the beautiful scenery and the unique culture. The villagers have a strong sense of community and are committed to keeping their environment clean. They use eco-friendly practices like rainwater harvesting and waste management. Neha: That's incredible! After Mawlynnong, you went to NohKaLikai Waterfalls, and after that? Rahul: Indeed, after NohKaLikai Waterfalls, I headed to Nongstoin, the headquarters of West Khasi Hills district. I checked into a budget-friendly hotel, Yo-yee Travellers Inn, on Nongstoiñ-Mawkyrwat Road in Nongstoin, for the night of 16.October 2020.
