GERRY PRIANO Isaiah 40

from Bethel Bible Chapel (Audio) Hosted by Bethel Bible Chapel

GERRY PRIANO Isaiah's Christmas Message From Chapter 40 Key Question: To whom was the COMFORT of Isaiah 40 addressed? Brief: On this first Sunday in December, we begin a series of messages from the Bible book of Isaiah, "Isaiah's Christmas Messages." In the 40th chapter of his book, Isaiah is commanded to COMFORT God's people. This message of comfort takes the form of 4 "CALLS." The CALL to COMFORT, (v. 1-2), The CALL to CLEAR THE WAY, (v.3-5), The CALL to CONTRAST, (v. 6-8), and The CALL to CELEBRATION, (v. 9-11). The sounds of Handel's great oratorio, Messiah, ring in our ears as we read these familiar verses of Holy Scripture. What a thrill to consider them at this most wonderful time of the year. Key Scriptures: Isaiah 40:1-11; Matthew 3:3; Mark 1:3; Luke 3:4-6; John 1:23; 2 Corinthians 1:3-4; Ruth 2:13; 1 Corinthians 15:1-2; 1 Peter 1:23-25
