Get it Done & Leave Perfectionism Behind | Ep 127

from NonSexual Soulmates

Send Us a Message.. please be niceHey, it’s Kailey and Kayla from Nonsexual Soulmates, diving into the "Trust" chapter of Elizabeth Gilbert’s Big Magic. This week we are taking a look at trusting in the creative process and letting go of our tendencies toward perfectionism. We review our own journey into stepping out on a creative venture (with this podcast) and how it has given us the confidence to dream bigger and challenge ourselves with new creative ventures we might never have dared to dream before. What's our biggest takeaway? Gilbert's quote is the most succinct takeaway we can come up with: "Done is better than perfect." And literally editing this episode was a testament to this sentiment when I could not, FOR THE LIFE OF ME, to get the audio and video to line up. So, I said "done is better than perfect" to myself about 50 times and hit export because sometimes life and a day job constrain your time. So here we are. This chapter has been a good reminder to quit cherishing social media metrics and not focus on the fact that it feels like YouTube blacklisted us for some unknown reason and focus on the creative process for the joy of doing the damn thing. Tell us about your story and your creative journey because it's great to learn from each other. If you'd like to be interviewed about your own creative practice, creative dreams, or creation schemes, drop us a comment below and we will connect. Thanks as always for listening and we will see you next Tuesday.  🎙️✨ #BigMagic #CreativityGET EXCLUSIVE ACCESS TO OUR CONTENThttps://www.nonsexualsoulmatespodcast.comJust follow the link & enter your email.
