Get Out | Ben & Bran See a Movie

from Ben Talks Film · host Ben Tito Friedman

This week on Ben & Bran See a Movie, Ben Friedman is joined by Chris Harris to discuss maybe the best film of 2017, Get Out. Jordan Peele's newest horror film Nope debuts this weekend in theaters across the world, so it only made sense to talk Jordan Peele and the qualities that make him such a unique director and writer.   In Get Out, his comedic sensibilities from Key and Peele are in full-effect. You can feel his love for science-fiction and horror, and directors like Kubrick and Hitchcock. Get Out can best be described as a Twilight Zone-esqe story, yet is so much more. It's a film unafraid to make fun of white liberals and show the absurdity of racism, while also discussing the fetishization of the body, which so many black Americans are subjected to.
