It's live. Well, hi everyone and welcome to the Naughty of North podcast. It's Naughty Podcast and it's hosted by Naughty Nords. I am one of your hosts, Sam.

And I am the other host Paul. I'm a joint by... Fucking nobody. Nobody likes us anymore.

Everyone's fucked off. No. We thought we'd have the original gruesome two together with a pin I was spooky season. Normally we're trying loaded up with guests, but sometimes it can be quite cosy, can be quite interesting.

And let's be honest, me and Sami are better cracked than most of you to watch out there anyway, so it's fine. I'll have one too. I'll have one too. Do it anywhere.

Everyone loves off. Bye. Bye. Ah, no, it's a host full episode.

It's a host full, yes. Oh, so I said we did this. Oh, can't remember. I think we ask this every time we do one.

Yeah, some people like it. I don't know. But yeah, this is, as I said, spooky as Chris has just said in the chat. Very spooky.

Ooh, ooh, ooh. All the hosts that can be these are out. Do you get... Do you get...

You know the M up is Christmas Carol. You know the two old men. Molly, Molly. Ooh.

Big soon we do in the Christmas special. But yeah, that's a big one. No, we won't. No, we won't.

But yes. Um, you're gonna do the disclaimer. I've already offended everyone, so might as well get out of the place. Exactly, might as well just cover our backs now.

All right, so, everything's going to do today's episode. Are there opinions on our opinions alone? And if you'd like to discuss anything from today's episode, I'd please come and join us on the Facebook page. You can join us in the Nodie of North Discord.

Or the comment section where we can have a normal discussion. But what we won't have, is anyone coming for us in town? There's our opinions are wrong. Because we can all agree to disagree and find them.

So let's keep it fun. Keep it kind and keep the toxic behaviour out of the nerdism. Very well said. And if I had to counteract that as well, the only way I could say, I would argue with the case.

If you say Alien isn't a horror movie, you're a dick. Simple. Anyway, moving on, I'm not bitter. I don't want to crunch.

I don't want to go just for the life. Um, no taglines to do. No. Yeah, we're free ball nuts.

It's all easy. Not many plans. Um, no Nods. No Nodes.

No Nodes. We are. Um, one thing I wanted to discuss, because me and Sami and Chris, and even Lee, have been very busy over the last week. Um, we have been involved with our first, we've done stuff before, but this is our first actual festival that we've been involved in.

As the press, we were given press access. So yes, we were very special and we just need to get like a lamni to stick it for Sami, because she likes the lamni to think that she had pressed the IP, career, busy special needs, anything that busy showcase as Sami as the princess. She is. We are, um, yeah, Grimfest 2025.

Yeah. We had access to it. Now first experience. Not what were we expecting?

Mm-hmm. No. It was a good way. It was a good way.

Because we were expecting to be given certain things. We were made to work for it. Need to like actually reach out and have balls and say, Hi, my name is Paul. Can we see your moving place?

Can I watch your movie? And I'm so glad that the ones that we got, especially from my perspective anyway, and the Lily's ritual is bringing it. But I've really, the driftwood one has really stayed with us. Right.

And I didn't expect it to. And with the Bean anthology horror, you kind of like, you can jump into a story and then you can jump out of it and go to the next one and it's, it's fine. It floors, this one has some really hidden in-depth messages that I was not expecting. And my mum read my review and just went there.

You're wrong. I know it's excuse me. Which is the meaning of life is 42. Oh, gosh, went over there for you to check.

So yes, I know I'm living. That's 42 at the moment. And yeah, so the meaning of life is pizza. Yes.

And if you know what you know. You know what you know. But yeah, as Sammy said, we've got to say some very, the not creative independent movies, which was next in new and we have done in. Sammy got a review of the big movie a few weeks ago, Good Boy, which again, blew my mind that we got to say that early.

I got a movie called Beast of War, which was basically World War II, Australian fighting sharks. Andrew Nuan Peis, which was always good. Lee had a film called Itch, which, you know- So it's a lot of traction, didn't it? And the one Chris is just going out today.

Kabucha. Kabucha. Kabucha. Yeah.

Which we thought was going to be Asian horror, which I wasn't. It wasn't. I was like, well, that sounds like Asian horror. Chris would love that.

Give it to him. But he enjoyed it. He enjoyed it. He said it was good.

But I love these little tag line. He was like, would you drink this? I drink that. I would keep you what we are.

Can make you feel more alert. Then start sloping some monster. True Chris. But yeah, but thank you for the people involved with Next Year's Grimm Fest.

And actually give us a chance. And I'll be sending an email out just to thank them. But yeah, totally new experience. Totally different to what we're used to.

And I think we did all right. We did well. I think we'll know from next time to do things differently or to get more prepared. But as a whole, I think we did all here.

We did all here. Yeah. Absolutely. I don't think we had any moderators in.

We do. Chris is always there. Chris is larger than in charge. But yeah, Jake's there as well.

I am everyone. But tonight we are having a discussion rather than talking about a movie. It's an overall thing. I thought this would be interesting to have a conversation because this is kind of like Sammy's Wheelhouse.

This is Sammy's horror. Possession movies. Now, we're going to ask the question to start with. Is it you, Beepin?

I can't hear a Beepin. Are you possessed? Is that what it is? Oh my god.

Are you a Beepin? It's all in his head. This is not a bit, guys. This is not a bit.

It's not. Here's the other thing I can hear a Beepin. Is that not you? That's not me.

It's like a bomb. There's a bomb in your butt. Your butt is the bomb. Your butt is the bomb.

No, we do humanifying. It's just. Just thought I'm thinking what can be what can possibly be beepin? It's about a humanifier.

No, it's not Captain Howdy, don't worry. Sorry, question. Question. So this is going to be in two parts.

So first thing you think of, or first movie you think of when you hear the word possession movie. What would you say? What would you watch your gourdow? Straight off the bat, it is the exorcist.

Now, all that might seem very typical of me. But it is, and I do have an exorcist t-shirt and I just for the occasion. But yeah, it's typical, it's the possession movie. It is the possession movie.

No, definitely. And I think that's where people go to when they think of the word possession movie, the more religious or the gourdow. Damon's, Gorse, Spring, thing. Now, the second one, second question, I think this is more interesting.

Why do you think possession movies as a whole as the reputation of being the more scary horror? Because you get more horror than me. You get more movies than me. Ooh, there's horror movies that actually give you the creeps.

But actual fear inducing, I would say possession movies has that reputation to scare people the most. Why do you think that is? I think it's because it's the idea of something awesome one or if thing completely hindering you from anything. And the idea of that is probably more terrifying than having it scary something in your face.

Yeah. That's how I feel anyway, that when I watch possession movies, it's the idea that I am no longer in control of my body anymore. If we're talking about physical possession, because possession as I have learned, can mean so many things. Yes, I think someone for a joke's in, I thought you were doing films about the bailiffs coming to me car.

Um, well, that is a former possession. Yes. I'm glad you said that. And this is probably where we are like saw kindred spirits in a way.

Because in theory, that's why I think the movies are so scary as well. Because as human beings, and as a massive control freak, which I am getting better, which like as believe it or not, in four years, he is getting way better. Being not in control or something, or being not in control of yourself, to me is one of the more frightened aspects of you. And that can be many things.

I mean, you might be able to control some could be holding you at a hostage or, um, physically, like the thought of being stuck, like if you were like the descent, stuck in a cave and not being able to get out with it. Like you're not in control of your own safety. That lives a fear. And then again, you go from like the haunted hill house, was it the house where the girls got the sleep paralysis?

Oh, the sleep paralysis. Oh my gosh. Have you ever experienced it? No, but me wife has.

And it's like she's more crying just because of it. And again, that thought of you not being able to control it. I can just do something as simple as move your hand. It's horrifying.

I'm not surprised. It's horrifying. So I do actually haven't for much word for a couple of years now, but I used to suffer really badly when I cherish them. Really bad.

And like I say, they've kind of gotten a lot better, but there was one time coming towards the end of that, when I had sleep paralysis. And I was like, the thing is, it's so weird because you can see yourself. So I knew I was lying on my side. I knew my eyes were open.

And there was nothing I could do. I couldn't move. I couldn't. I was trying to talk.

Nothing was coming out. I was trying to scream. Nothing was coming out. I couldn't physically get myself to turn over to where my husband was right behind us.

And nothing was happening. And then all of a sudden the release came and just got this sudden burst of scream in his face. And it was absolutely horrible. I've never experienced this since I never want to experience it again.

So yeah, it's pretty fucking scary. But and again, the way you can use the possession aspect of it, because it didn't have to be you physically possessed, it could be like anything like an object as well. This is where my mind went as well. So I was trying to push the boundaries of what you would class as a possession movie as well.

And this might be a difficult one to do, but I'll try and because I'm like a 90% believer to it, but I don't think you can class it. But again, I'll throw this at you. What do you class a vampire movie as a possession movie? Oh, well, because they can do hip.

Well, in typical vampire law, they can do hypnotized. And can't they? If the call rather than the tricks and what they play, because in theory, what they've like, depending on lawyer or like, course law last year, but last week, sorry, now we talk about vampire law, it's different aspects. Because in essence, when they talk about vampires, it's a demon that's taking your soul.

It's your aspect still there, but you kind of amplify to a degree. So again, I told you it's a difficult argument, but I was trying to think about this this way, because like, yeah, could you technically class a vampire? Because you're not your true 100% self. You've got something else in there with you, but have you got control of you?

I don't know if this is because I'm reading Salons a lot at the moment. So maybe this is where my answer is going to be influenced from. And I see vampires and moors as a disease, then possession. Yeah, no, I'm on board.

That's why I said before, when I'm going to have this conversation, I was going to try and push the boundaries. No, and that's cool. And that's cool. Because honestly, mine have been, I do love possession movies, but I don't realize I've watched quite a few until I started having a good read.

And like, oh shit, I've seen that one. Like, I don't know why this didn't cross my mind. And I know what it is, because I know I've just recently done it. Jennifer's body is a possession movie.

She gets possessed by your fucking demon. And it's something that completely slips my mind because in some way, there's some part of it, we'll always think of the religious room when it comes down to possession movies. Yet there's a whole big score there. Like it's huge.

I think because the religious horror aspect, especially with possession has like a monopoly of the use. Because as you said, it is the more scary aspect to it. But if you go the other side, like I forget about the vampires, that was me trying to be flippant as well. No, no, that's really cool argument.

You can go to the comedy side as well. Because there is possession movies that are out there clearly. If you think about Charles Clear, that's a possession. Yes, that was another one that came up to me in the list I was watching.

Someone said, could Charles play because of this? Yeah, because Charles Clear really possessed the dog. Yeah, he wants to go into it. And again, pushing that bound a little bit further.

Short circuit, could be classless because Johnny V comes alive. He's a robot and he's possessed. Like where did these soul or his heart come from? Is he possessed by a human?

It's a fair argument. And Chris mentioned one earlier, he never liked it. But Lord of the Rings, for all was possessed by the ring. Yeah, it's a more seduced by the ring.

That could be the same but again. Oh, yeah, sorry. I like that. Yeah, but also one last again, then we'll have a serious conversation.

Look at films like Freaky Friday. Right, I think you'll have even again. That is you. It's me.

It has to be you. I'm not beeping, I can't hear you. Hang on. Beep, beep, beep, beep.

That's not my danger, minifier. That's something else. I can't hear you. It's on my headphones.

Unless you're picking up Nick Putt on the microphone. Mike, we have on downstairs. We've got my hearing, it's not that good. Right, anyways, I'm sorry.

Yeah, no, it's Freaky Friday. Because even though it's not someone else, you're sweating bodies. So you're not in possession of your own. Yeah, but yeah, I guess so.

If you look at, there was a horror movie done with Vince Vaughn and Freaky, that was done so well. But it's such an interesting concept. Because literally anything can be possessed. Like, Sunny's beeping is now possessed.

My headphones are apparently possessed by bloody beeps. Yeah, what's it called? You're one of your favourite books, Pet Sembray. Those animals come back and they're not the same.

They're possessed by something. When you go... Sometimes Ted is better. No, sometimes do.

You can't do it in his voice, man. Yeah, you're right. I never really look at Pet Sembray as possession thing. I don't even know.

What about Claspen? Sembray as? Well, that's a good point though. Because it's such an open book to say that concept.

Because as I said, when I thought about doing this, I was like, oh, great. We'll talk about the excess talk about the conjuring. We'll talk about the conjuring. We'll talk about the rose.

And the rose. But then I've got to think about a little bit more as well. Recently, we've had one of the weirdest and I think most interesting possession movies this year in Wends. Oh my god, yeah.

If you have witchcraft and witchcraft and I'll tell you what, mind. If they don't join long legs and hurt together in some capacity, I will be pissed. I don't want to say that was a surprise because the way people are reacting around it, I just didn't expect that. No, I was expecting something different.

Yeah. And then when we got that, I wasn't disappointed as well. No, no. I thought it was going to be more thriller aspect.

Yeah, I thought there was going to be some kind of thing that had done this, but not her. Yeah, her. Like, spoilers, but you haven't had the same weapons. Sorry, but you should have watched them.

I didn't expect that. And it's all fucking good. Yeah. And especially my top five of this year.

When the sitting on the dinner table and you've got Agnes describing to the little boy, basically, you're going to do what I tell her to do and then like, no, and he's like, okay, she gets the parents to stab themselves in the face. And she's like, the way she describes them since I will get them to hurt each other. I will get them to hurt you. I'll even fucking get them to eat each other in front of you.

And it's just like, could we not? Could we not just do that? Could we leave it eaten all one place? But it's such like, and as I said, it's a surprise.

That's why I love weapons as well, because of the surprise aspect. You don't think it's going to be witchcraft and possession and of like that, as the horror aspect to it. No, no, when she enters that movie, you're like, what the fuck? Yeah.

Where are we? What is happening? Well, it's just when they go into teachers' house as well. And having that conversation, she's like, oh, like, like, tortorum, like, like normal, like, they're not just going to do this.

Oh my god. And then she just pulls her hair out of his head and just got control. And it's, oh, it's horrible. Like, in the best possible way that.

Yeah, in the best possible way. Scott, I don't know if you're asking that to me. But I've read it recently. It's my favorite Stephen King book of all time at the moment.

I am on a Stephen King journey, but yeah. Just do not watch the remake. Do not do that. So you like the prequel?

Well, I didn't, I didn't, I didn't like the prequel. I like the remake. Oh, I found that was okay. Well, the one which I left for.

Yeah, I didn't mind that one. If I was serious. Yeah, because I thought the kids dressing them like. Oh, yeah, that's pretty cool.

But it changed the whole fucking story. It needs to be, it's a thing. It's a thing. It's a thing.

No, no, no, I was so angry at that. I don't need to bring that level of anger here. Possession movies. Yeah, possession movies.

I'm here. I'm in the room. Oh. So we'll go back to the original one that you brought up.

Your favorite movie. I think we all know my thing. I don't want to be as harsh as I've said in the past. I think the excess is like, it has its place in the world.

And all you absolutely love it. It's not one of my favorite films. But I can enjoy. I can understand what was made, like how that was made and the things involved with it.

That's fair. I mean, I haven't seen it once. I think you'll have to head off all the way through it. Which I was like, this is not a funny film.

No. But for me, it's not just a great horror movie. It is a great movie. Yeah.

It has its place. Not only in horror, it has its place in cinema history. And it's not just the story itself. It's everything that accompanies with it.

It's the makeup. It's the act and it's the way the director did that. You know what I mean? It's not for me.

It's a lot of move, different moving parts. Not just this. If that makes sense. No, 100%.

And with the Xs as well, like I said, if you talk about a possession movie, this is like number one with the bullet. This is the one thing. Is it because of the story behind it? Like all the things I think, like that it's a cursed movie.

All these horrible things that happened. All the things that happened on the set as well. Like with Linda Blair going through what she did, like during the making of the movie. How vicious it is at times, especially for its times.

Like the language it used in the context that was used as well. And that it was cast as a video nasty for so long. Because remember this was a band movie in the UK. We could not get a copy of this.

I think it was for about 15, 20 years, possibly. Possibly because the first of the version I ever owned was, oh my god, it was one of those DVDs where it was the flip organ bit on two sides. That was when it came out in I'm thinking 94, 185. It was a cardboard cover.

Yeah, it was a series Robin Hood Prince of Thieves. Yes. Yes. And it was, you had to flip it all over at a certain point.

Yes. I can't believe I don't own that anymore. The collector in me was not there at the time and I got rid of it. And I've now got like, I've got the Blu-ray that I've got so many different versions of it set up here.

But I can't believe that one's gone. Because it was like, that's a collector now. Damn it. Yeah, I got that one.

Honestly, it's been, it's the movie I've watched every Halloween. I think, don't get it wrong. I've watched it 30 times in between the year, but on Halloween night, that is the movie. I watched the Crow of the night before and I watched this one on Halloween.

And even still to this day, there's bits of it I missed that I've forgotten about. There's some scares in there that I've forgotten about. I don't particularly like the uncut with the Spider-Wark. I don't think it adds anything to it.

It's just another idea. Well, it's not going to affect to it, isn't it now? It is now. The way I was shot and everything is so interesting.

And this is just my personality, I can't. I just don't think it adds anything. The idea of her being completely confined to that bed is more terrifying than her running around free. We can run away from her.

Can't get away from it in that room. She's completely in that room. And so, yeah, I think I even watched the megaformal when I made my sister watch it with us because I was like, I didn't break a tradition. I can't change it.

We can't change it. That type of movie that we still see the fingerprints on today. Like, it's been not remade but kind of redone in different ways. I do like the parody Repossessed with Leslie Nielsen.

I think it's absolutely hilarious. Repossessed? Yeah, bit of a little blue dress is just probably the Brit song. Yes, I love Repossessed.

And you write the blueprint of these type of movies that is there. However, the art movies that have come out and kind of changed that blueprint a little bit. The same aspect. Exorcism only rolls.

Yes. So we were talking about this today, actually, because I was talking to me in laws about it. And the Exorcism only rolls and the Exorcism is kind of sharing the same story. But the kind of like, I think it's based off two individual people and anyone can correct us if I'm wrong here.

I have no notes and Google is not in front of me right now. And two different people kind of like split in the middle and then share their stories, they share it out. That's how I remember learning about it. But yeah, Exorcism only rolls is, it's not just a good possession movie.

It's a good, I see it as a bit of a thriller as well. Like there's some thriller aspect in there. I think that's what makes a good horror film as well. It's like keeps you on there.

Like almost leads the mystery in there where you're trying to further work out and see it with like almost like trying to complete the mystery yourself. Yeah, I think the core case element to it really helps to it because it's like, oh shit, this is a series. Like because within the Exorcist, you're only in that room with them to be honest. That is it.

In this, it's like, oh shit, law enforcement's are involved. And like there's a different element and an added element of like shitness to it. Like, oh Christ, like there's more things that could be exposed here than there was in that room. With the expansion as well.

Because I do like that concept as well. I mentioned with the excess being quite self-contained. You can see outside the room for short intervals, like just to see all the people's lives and how it kind of moves into that. But the majority of the movie is in the house and that's where the scares come from.

Then if you're going to like what we get now, like for example, like probably the next biggest one that we've got now is the Conjuring movies, that franchise where it's, it does have like a possession element in there, like especially with like see the first one and the mother. That one, you see again, it's based in the house, but you see other elements. You go to the Warren's house, you see like it introduces the Ultimate Possessed all which Chukio probably got a fight with Annabelle. So there's like that type of ass mix where I do think having the closed in and makes it more clogged and more scary.

Where if you build the world around it, because the world makes it kind of cantilever. Again, the only reason I mention the conjugment is because I only watched the last right last night for the first, I managed to get around it. I don't think it's a bad movie. The game is not a bad movie.

It's a bad movie. It has faults, but it's a bad movie. I do think, because I don't have to be that noun. So the rumours are that the TV show is going to be coming out next.

Yeah, that's the talking point. And it's obviously, it's a very pleasant of the torch moment. Yeah, it's not terrible. I quite enjoyed it.

I watched it on the weekend. But it has its faults. And I think because now people are starting to read a little bit more about the Warrens that they're like, they blurring the lights. I like the idea.

I think I wrote this in my review as well when I wrote my review for it was, I love the fact that Vera from Target and Patrick Wilson can distance you from the actual Warrens. And we can keep this as a self-contained story. And it's got really fuck all the do with their real lives, because this is fantasy. That was real.

And the real side of it is probably more worse than the fucking fantasy side of it. So let's just keep everything fantasy. But that's the thing with that type of world as well. Again, I'm not well, if we're probably with a big foot.

If we go from the movie site to what happens in the real world, because a lot of the stuff is based on true events, but the people who kind of are involved or kind of think are charlatans are trying to take advantage of people with mental health problems, or people with certain aspects. Not all of them, but the majority. That's all for that. The Warrens, I'll say the Warrens, fucking down show it.

All that. Actually, if you want to hear my thoughts and feelings on the Warrens, just go back and listen to me conjuring it. So because I've given it all down in there. If you're talking about the actual movie side as well, I think certain aspects, because I know I get very annoyed about the conjuring too with being sent in.

Oh, really? Yeah, because it's interesting. It's just basically, the Enfield Horrors is such an interesting story. It's a few of a shot of fiction.

The Enfield Horrors story is so interesting. So there's so many good dramatizations that's done about that. And then you get a conjuring where there's fabricated 90% of them. 95% 95% Let's give it 95% Because literally the person who was there in the majority of the time gets zero screenshots in this and gets tried as a joke.

And he's the one who led the investigation with Maurice Gross. And the Warrens came for five minutes. They literally walked in. They were not invited.

They walked in and they walked straight back out again because they realized there was no fucking money in this. Yeah. Yeah. They were Maurice Gross.

But I like the second one. I actually, as a movie, I really enjoyed that because we get introduced to Valak and I know Valak is not everyone's favourite, but as horror icons go, Valak's there. Like the aesthetic of Valak is definitely there. It's just a shame that they've not been able to do anything in my eyes, probably with her.

Because aesthetically, she looks fucking phenomenal. And I love her in that movie. That's all. I like that one.

It's quite interesting as well that you've said that because I do find not all of them, but most of the monsters are demons or ghosts in the conjuring movies to be extra Sanskrito. Especially the last one, like the last rights, all the ghosts and things look like they were just going to get a mask taken off to be revealed as. Yeah. When I read you, I would have gone away with this.

If it wasn't about you, stupid kids. Do you know, when I read your review, I was like, oh my God, shit, yeah, he's right. The makeup, like I love makeup. I think I've talked about this a hundred million times.

I love makeup and I could not find a redeeming quality in this. I didn't talk about it because you are so right. It's so store bought, rubber mask. Yeah.

It's just, I think at times as well, especially in this type of movie or these type of movies, less is more like a dark than the eyes, a thinning of the face. Look, and like in P.N. is scary. If you go to, I think some of the best effects for possessions and is, again, no one will even think about it.

It's probably the start of Constantine. Yeah. There is nothing, I know what you mean by that now. See this?

When they're in that room and that young girl's getting possessed by a demon and you see everything just off the piano, but you could still see the human side of it. Yeah. That's where. That's scary.

That is, that element is scary because when you think of possession, the idea of the other person being in there is sometimes forgotten about. Yeah. So because if you take, I'm probably going to reference it back to this movie constantly. But if you take the excesses, she is completely unrecognizable.

You can really forget the fact that there's a little girl in there. But if you have that element of human side too, it's like it makes the threat in the level, like the idea of saving them so much more greater. And I think that's where, again, not going to be high-hosting, we saw a box about this and we've talked about this so many times. The all-school methods of prosthetics make up is so much better than now of this in all the CGI, this aspect.

We'll get this, obviously, it's bad about the excesses and what Emily was when she's doing all the body moving and stuff. It looks cool, but it's so unrealistic. It's like where you get the head turn in Reagan, it's practical. It looks, it moves like you're just...

Yeah, it is. Edward move, it was going the wrong way. Not to me, it's like, oh, gut-wrenching fear. Same with, if you go, this is not a possession movie, but if we talk about facts like the Saw movie, Saw One, when he's cutting his own leg off, it looks real.

If you say GI Dutch it, it would just be like, I'm not saying I'm a serious, but you wouldn't have that gut-roll failing. No, no, no. And I think going to, again, some of the Mon-Dier ones, like the one we've watched the Forbes Ex-Sizam with Russell Crowe, again, a very good, well-done Ex-Sizam movie and possession movie. But it takes you out a little bit when they start using the CGI aspects and you get the mouth opening and it's elongated and like eyes bulging and it's like...

Make it make sense. Make it make sense to me. Yeah, no, I totally understand what you mean. And possibly because I am just a lover of Special effects makeup.

Let's do it with the jacket piece, let's fucking hot glue everyone and be fucking done with it. It talks like painting everything. The Poor Ex-Sizam is such a good one to mention. We were talking about this today because I was, I was, for a movie that I had noise, I do kind of go into some Ex-Sizam movies with an eye roll.

Yeah. I'm ready to... Okay. Just...

Like when's the point I want to check out? Yeah. And that was with the Ex-Sizam believers as well. Same.

Do you know what? I saw what they wanted to do with that and I was kind of on board with it. And I might have... I actually didn't mind it as much as everyone else did because I had that.

I could... I could... It just, there was something missing and I couldn't quite place it. But it wasn't enough for us to say I didn't like that movie.

And there was... It felt like a part one. That's what we got. Yeah, you're right.

It did. Unless the owner, Junior, I just fucking love him. And I was like, I was watching it because of him. And obviously it's the Ex-Sizam.

But yeah, the Pope's Ex-Sizam. I honestly was expecting that again, I am Ristle Crow. I'm not going out to watch a fucking Russell Crow film. I might reconsider that now after that one because it got me five minutes, five minutes in.

And the minute he said mental health, as opposed to an actual possession, I was like, oh shit, okay. I'm on this because... Yeah, because even in the Ex-Sizam, they don't even consider that they go down a medical route. Like, oh, there's got to be something physically wrong with her in order for this to be the issue.

But they don't look at the mental side of it. And then no re-changes appearance completely to the point where you're like, oh shit, yeah, that bitch is she possessed. Like, you can't not see that she is. Because look at her.

Well, at the beginning, that wasn't the case. They put it through so many fucking unnecessary procedures because it had to be something inside of it that was causing this. It couldn't have been her mental stability. So I like the idea that the Pope's Ex-Sizam, as opposed to that guy's possessed, it's like, you look at how mental health issues.

Do you think it's a brief choice as well to do that? Because I think a lot of, like, filmmakers are scared of that to do that. Because the Catholic Church fucking relies upon this shit. They completely rely upon it for people to believe that the omen is a perfect example.

Kind of of that. If we're looking at it from a movie perspective, the omen is not a possession movie by any means. But it is the idea that the church has so much control that they can implant these ideas into people. And they get so...

So technically it is a possession movie. If it's like the control aspect of state in a way. Yeah, there was one that kind of blew my mind a little bit when I was going through lists of possession movies. And I adore this film.

I love doing impersonations of it as well. And it's another one. I would never say, oh, that's a possession movie. I'd just say, oh, that's a really good 60s horror film, which is Rosamie's baby.

Right, okay. She doesn't just have physical possession. She also has emotional possession as well. She's completely and utterly controlled by every single person she encounters.

Completely, yeah. Completely, yeah. So there's the different levels of possession that goes in that movie. And I was like, oh my God, I've never seen that before.

Because any time I think of Rosamie's baby, it's just, what have I done to him? What have I done to his eyes? So, because... Made me self-flap that's wrong.

If you think about it though, because we've got certain levels and certain types of possession movies. I know we've just briefly, well, at the start, we briefly, like, Jorken mentioned a lot. But if you look back, I would say, if you go back to, say, the excess, for example, the possession movie of that time was very religious, very different. The modern day of possession movie, I think, is doing like the trying different tactics or special modern techniques for it as well.

If we go, like, take weapons out because that was quite recent. Over the last few years, two of our, like, we'll probably have this discussion, you'll be surprised by the whole, two of our favorite movies that we've seen is involved possession. One, you were very brave, and you went to pictures of yourself to see the evil dead rises. Yeah.

Yeah. And the other one, late night with the devil. Yes. Wow.

Yes. Okay. Another franchise that you have to remind is that it's a fucking possession movie, is the evil dead movies, because it's not where my brain, again, it's, it's the excesses that's done this to, is because it's not religious. I'm like, it's not a possession movie, and the fucking is.

The evil dead rise is one of my favorite, I will put that in there, the top 10, it's one of my favorite films. I, and I'm not taking anything away from the other evil dead movies, because they're all, you know, fantastic in their own way. But for some reason, evil dead rise just hit something with me. As well, like aesthetically, it's like, and don't get the wrong, because I'm a huge fan of the evil dead movies we're going to be touching on the evil dead in a few weeks, probably.

Can't wait. Um, they are very much B movies, let's be honest with you, when you're not the aesthetic and how they mean it. I would say I'm more independent, but... Oh, I'm going to try to be all fancy.

I would say, I would say I would. I would be friends with the independent crowd. I would, no, I would generally class, I would generally class. The first evil dead for damn show is an indie classic, and that is done on a shoestring, that is creatively put together.

Evil Dead 2 is so campy that it is borderline being moved with the indie aspect of an army of darkness, is a being movie. 100% you cannot argue with that. But even their writers, this is a fucking blockbuster. Yeah, this has got money behind it.

And money and monsters. Everything in it was ramped up. Even the Necro... I'm not going to try and see it.

Necro number 10. Was fucking terrifying. Like, even local, the way it was wrapped and stuff on it. It looked the shits.

And having kids involved and having the balls to basically kill the kids as well. Which I think... I just killed them fucking annihilate them. Which again, I think an evil dead movie needs.

And the score as well. The score stayed with us. I think everything in that was done with such love and care and respect. That was the best we could describe it, the respect of it.

Yeah, and there was so much homage period without fucking ramming it down your throat. This is an evil dead movie. The opening of the movie is in homage to Raimi and the Fast Moving. But it's not so fast that it's because it is really quick in the Evil Dead movie.

It's not so fast that it kind of takes this time just a little bit to take. This is ours. But we're paying homage to the OG. The fact that she wore blue and black at the end is so gross Campbell with denim shirts and the black trousers.

Yeah, there was just some end up obviously the chainsaw. Yeah. Yeah. And yeah, honestly it is one of my favourite films.

It's in there in the top 10. And I was very brave to go and see if I'm a spare anime. I did have to have Paul Vettid first before Owen. So it was like, kind of not any jumpscales.

As a little jumpscales in there I hang on. That's the thing. Your brain when it comes to certain things. Well, brain when it comes to softly when it comes to like blood and gums.

I'm not good with that type of shit. But you're okay with that. It's just if someone turns and scares you that's kind of like the thing I've been afraid of. Oh, I love it too.

I love it too. Conjuring too. The, you know, when she goes and changes the channel. Yeah.

And he goes, get out of my house. And not only screamed, I fell out of my chair and the whole cinema looked at a spare anime. I was with someone at the time. I was sat with a friend and I was like, funny.

Just trying to laugh it off. I'm so embarrassed. Yeah. I don't do well with stuff like that.

I do love it. It's the most famous one that I've ever done is minute minor on your report. All right. Which part was that?

But I levered it. If you were watching it in bed and I literally just, like, I did what that girl does, you know, she'd be on the actual anything on pictures when she's falling. Yeah, I did that. Yeah.

I don't know if I ever told you the story of me passing out on the cinema. Oh, no. What was the movie? Three Kings with George Clooney.
