Get Shorty (1995)

In which we love tall women and hate short men. During the post-PULP FICTION renaissance of John Travolta came him playing yet another charmer in the professional field of crime. Only thing time his character in GET SHORTY shared our love of movies. Which means all of his crimes can be forgiven. In fact... most everything in this Barry Sonnenfield adaptation of an Elmore Leonard novel can be forgive (even Danny Devito as the world's biggest movie star) because the cast is so damn likable. James Gandolfini as the stunt man with a heart of gold. Delroy Lindo as the nemesis who likes purple suits and pink toilets. And the leading lady of the 90s and currently criminally underutilized Rene Russo. This was fun. You will have fun. Happy Valentine's Day weekend at the movies from TRILOGY IN THEORY!
